Everyone Is Talking About Denim

Hey everyone!

Yay its Monday whoooooo, back to the weekly grind. Now that LFW is almost over I have started to reflect on the outfits that I have seen and the trends that have been emerging. However I have to say I wasn't overly blown away. I don't know if its because right now being in between seasons the shops don't have loads to offer or if we are all lacking a little bit of inspiration.

I just felt in some cases, there was definitely exceptions, that dressing was a bit OTT. For example the 70s trend, I absolutely love this trend but some people were literally head to toe, time travelling gypsys that have saturated themselves in every fringe, velvet, floaty or suede material there was. I actually preferred to see the kids that were dressing crazy like the bloggers The Confetti Crowd, literally loved every single outfit, it was all just so fun and playful.

I was also so chuffed to see so many Scottish bloggers down at LFW this year and they all completely rocked it. Now that I feel the 70s trend is ruined, a new trend emerged that I really and will always love, denim. I have worn denim since I was around 4 years old but never in jeans weirdly enough. Jeans just do not suit me which is annoying because they look great on other people.

Coat: ASOS £58
Denim Jacket: Vintage Levi £22
Shirt: Ralph Lauren £70
Leather leggings: Topshop (old)
Brogues: Missguided £29.99
Watch: Fossil (Present)
Rings: H&M £4.99

My favorite is the denim jacket. The one I am wearing today is an absolute vintage Levi steal that will be my true love eternally. I got this one from one of the stores on Brick Lane, there would never be something this amazing in Scotland. However saying that, its not vintage but there is a new beautiful one in H&M that is begging to be mines. It is a off white beauty with rose gold buttons......aaaah I die. Every time I walk past it to get to work I always go in, just to feel it. Weird, I know.

I'm pretty sure the denim trend will be big this year especially in forms of dresses and co-ords which I cannot wait for! For now since it is still minus 25 outside I will be wearing mines underneath coats. Super cosy.

Thanks for reading!

Are You a Saunt Or a Sinner?

Hi everyone!

Finally I managed to get my photographer back, so the quality of these pictures, fingers crossed, should be better for you lot and you can also see the whole outfit in natural daylight rather than the light of my room. So I was kindly gifted two t-shirts by the stylish Scottish brand Saunt&Sinner check out their collections here. To bring some freshness to the brand Saunt & Sinner have released these new minimalist t-shirts one white and one black which is perfect for how I want to dress at the moment. They are also unisex if you want to do the whole 'couple dressing' thing..... Your choice.

I've went for the white t-shirt to style this time as I know it is pretty easy to chuck on a leather jacket and rock a day look but I wanted to portray that a casual t-shirt with a bold design can be styled to be a sleek night look. Without looking too much like John Travolta, style icon,  I put this look with my green mac to help break up the blinding white.

I absolutely love love love seeing Scottish brands emerge from the fashion scene as I think as a whole we are a very creative country its just a shame we do not  get the fair representation that we deserve. Rant over. Without coming across over patriotic as I leave to live in London soon I will always have a soft spot for Scottish designers and their brands.

T-shirt: Saunt & Sinner £30
Blazer: Topshop £58
Trousers: Red Herring £34.99
Heels: Next £35
Clutch: Zara (old)
Mac: Primark £24.99
Rings: H&M £4.99

SS15 is sooooo close and I cannot wait to refresh my wardrobe as I am so over chunky knits and leggings the thought of floaty dresses and bare legs literally makes me want to cry with joy. No exaggeration. LFW starts today! So I will be glued to my laptop streaming every live show there is. After attending LFW a few years back I understand why people get such a buzz from it, the atmopshere and inspiration is electric.

So this little outfit is an nod to the kind of ensemble I would wear if I was going and uni wasn't ruining any chance of a life. I really enjoy the 70s trend, hence the flared white trousers but as I wanted this to be on the dressy side pair it with a crisp white blazer to hold the whole outfit together. The t-shirt gives you that relaxed cool vibe so that it doesn't look too 'try hard'.

Let me know if you are going to LFW this year? I also will be attached to instagram like its a vital organ as Instagram is my baby during Fashion Week. If you are looking for new brands on Instagram Saunt & Sinners one is great for inspiration and behind the scenes looks, you can check it out here

Right see you lot soon guys, Hi Ho, Hi Ho its off to uni I go.

Shadows and Highlights

Hi everyone!

This post was a bit of a impromptu one so sorry if the lighting is a bit off, also please ignore the cringe worthy selfie stick, the things we do to get ootd pictures.

After all that colour in the last post I really craved something that was more simplistic, clean and very wearable. I am a massive candidate for buying clothing that feel amazing, if it doesn't feel good then I am not going anywhere near it. Even if something is hideous, if it feels like a cloud, I'll buy it. I'm obsessed.

So this silk inspired top from Zara is just gorgeous, its very floaty and fluid which allows movement to flow much easier which is specifically important to me as I run around like a toddler on speed. However it is white and considering I am not the most elegant of humans on the plant it will need washed in approx 10 mins.

I paired it with a long silky underskirt that I recently found underneath one of my very very very old dresses and just cut it out. It fits perfect for layering or wearing on its own in the summer. Normally when I try and do any customisation it goes severely wrong. RIP boyfriend Tammy girl jeans... Yet there was hope, as this time it actually worked and it goes with so much of my wardrobe.

Jacket: H&M £29.99
Top: Zara £29.99
Skirt: Made
Boots: Missguided £29.99

This jacket I have had for a while now and have literally worn it to death, you just need to scroll to previous blog posts to see. I love the waterfall style light coats that are going around, I've just recently picked up an olive green one that I love and may marry. Speaking of love its Valentine's day on Saturday or 'single awareness day' depending on which side of the love/hate scale you are on. I have never really been a massive fan of valentines day, I much prefer to just buy gifts out of spontaneity rather than pressure. An unthoughtful gift is the worst. Unless its clothes. Then no, that's never wrong. Either way I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend which ever you decide to do! Hopefully I can post before then :).

See yous!
xx

Just in case anyone is wondering my lipstick is just a MAC lipliner in Boldly Bare and then a touch of Smashbox Primrose lipstick, for you make up geeks out there!

How About Some Colour

Hi everyone

So again sorry for the quality of the photos by next week I should be getting some 'pro' ones, I tried to take some myself outside with a proper camera but when you have my dog its a constant battle for attention and she loves cameras. How has everyone's weekends been? ALSO have you seen the Grammy's outfits. To die for. I think my favourite had to be Kylie Jenner, holy crap. So as a nod to Kylie's sparkly number I decided to put on my own embellished one, as I'm trying to get all the use out of it before spring!

Also what was Rhianna wearing? Sorry to all you fans out there! She has such a hot bod and she covered it all up in one big massive ruffle...

I noticed that recently my posts have been pretty minimalistic, which I love but I thought just to change things up a bit I would pop some colour into my outfit and that I did. Now I am not the biggest pink lover in the world but this Zara shirt is an exception, Plus I love pairing it with clashing colours such as green or orange! I tend to change my style so often that I forget what goes with what but I think its the best way to just think everything looks great with everything haha. Ignorance is bliss my friend, bliss

Jacket: Primark £25
Pink Shirt: Zara £39.99
Green Shirt: H&M £19.99
Shoes: Next £29.99
Watch: Fossil (Present)
Cuff: Topshop £8

So I've chosen pink, green and orange as my main colours for this look much to my mothers disgust, however I quite like the look it gives and if that wasn't enough why not throw on a sparkly jacket to finish.

I am pretty short so I can get off with wearing this shirt as a dress as long as I wear the thickest tights known to man. No one needs a flash. Perk to being a midget is that you can get off with wearing tops as dresses, yay!

These shoes I have worn to death, but they suit the purpose of giving me some height whilst still remaining pretty casual. Right I better stop procrastinating and get on with the love of my life...the 4th year dissertation. Have a fabby day guys!

xx

P.S Side note, I am no where near as grumpy as I look in these photos haha

Easy Dressing

Hi everyone!

2 posts in 1 week, just sayin. The things I do to avoid writing my dissertation. So today has been really nice so far, I  went out for some lunch with the good old parents, which is sweet as I barely have anytime to myself never mind including them and it beats just moping around the house.

You know those days where you really need to wash your hair and you just cannot be bothered? Today is that day, however  a la Olivia from http://www.whatoliviadid.com/ this beehive is amazing. Its great for looking like you have made an effort when its really taken around 2 seconds. I  like to think with some red lipstick, simple monochrome dressing and a biker it can look put together. When we all know its not.

I have gone a bit OTT on the makeup front today playing around with both purple and red, I know breaking rules everywhere here! So I couldn't go all out with crazy patterns and textures so my outfit is pretty clean and simplistic.

These trousers are amazing and tick all the boxes, 70's flared, high waisted and black. Yes. Paired with a simple loose fitting 'ironed' shirt, fingers crossed you've skipped over high school teacher and went straight too 'I woke up like this'. This chain is one of my all time favorites and my biggest regret is not getting it in silver, its from H&M which is my go to store if Zara is just too pricey for my student bank. FULL TIME JOB COME AT ME. It is actually long in length but I prefer to wear it as a short chain and longer for more boho stylings.

Jacket: H&M £35
Shirt: Zara £19.99
Trousers: Topshop £40
Boots: Next £35
Chain: H&M £6.99

Now these shoes...I got inspiration from the ASOS stylist (dream job) Frankie as I think I am just a tad bit in love with her I will link her personal blog here. These boots are super comfy considering the heel and will be perfect both winter and spring/summer. Also I cannot wait to pair these with some cute socks.

Hope you guys are liking this style of blogging before I return to the 'pro' pics :).

Have an amazing weekend guys!

Look Whos Back, Back AGAIN

Hi everyone!

Yeah so fourth year... is basically hell concealed as a university, smart Aberdeen, smart. It will crush all hopes, dreams and ambitions. Actually I don't want to worry all the 3rd years out there your experience might be completely different. I think 4th year just isn't for me and if I could I would have left with my humble bachelor degree and faced the fashion world without the honors. Alas it is too late now and I cannot WAIT to, fingers crossed graduate and be free this summer :).

Anyways as I haven't blogged in goodness knows how long! I am finding my blog layout a little bit meh so you may see some changes soon. Also my style of posting might change also just because I really want to start posting again but half the time 'proper' photography takes way too much time and right now I just don't have time to waste. This way more OOTD posts will be up more frequently just not in such high quality. I do love the proper photos though and will continue to do them when my photographer is available.

So although we should be creeping out of winter we still have snow. This means that my style hasn't really evolved into SS15 yet at all instead I am still very much into classic dressing and LAY-ERS. This means that all my tones are very neutral based, my favorites being khaki, black, creams and stone. When you see women wear top to toe all in the same colour its just...TOO MUCH LOVE, I'm creepy like this btw I have literally the worst habit for people watching. There is nothing worse than seeing those outfit posts on Tumblr, trying to create it and looking like a parody of the photo, my life. So I think wearing all the same colour in slightly different shades helps you look less parody and more 'cool'. God, I try too hard.

So these photos were taken really quick before I headed out to get coffee with a buddy of mines that I haven't seen since November...Told you I had no time!

Jacket: H&M - old
Jumper: Primark £12
Skirt: ASOS £32
Necklace: H&M £6.99

These kind of jackets with the woolly lining have literally saved my soul in winter. I just need one that will trail on the ground, I hate that they are short I feel exposed. I always think they look really nice on guys as well, as the one bad thing is that they can make girls look bulky, maybe just me as I'm 5ft 1. That 1 COUNTS.

Okay I'm heading off! Hopefully these photos aren't too different for you guys original ones will be returning soon.

SEE YOUS
