Beauty: My Charlotte Tilbury Experience

So as you all know I used to work as a makeup artist for this brand but never have I ever had my makeup done, so I was super keen when I was asked to come down for a makeover. Finally some pampering time. Charlotte Tilbury as you probably well know is on fire right now, and is taking the makeup industry by storm so I had to go check it out as a customer! 

I was booked in with the ever so lovely Emily Gordon who works at the Covent Garden flagship store, to be my official makeup guru. If you can book with her, its like having your own little Charlotte, she even has the same red hair...She was super patient with me as she knew I would be taking photos and asking loads of questions to tell you all! Basically she is a big babe and I fancy her loads <3.  

As you walk into store a makeup artist is there to guide you downstairs into the vintage/tilbury tomb of wonder. You literally feel like you have travelled back in time to the most glamorous of timelines. You get offered a complimentary glass of champagne which I was all about, especially heading bare face into Covent Garden, the hills have eyes indeed!  Once seated in your own makeover station your makeup artist will go over the Tilbury philosophy and you get to choose form the 10 looks that Tilbury suggests. I chose the Golden Goddess, ha I do like to think I am some Penelope Cruz/J-lo with my pasty skin. Dreamers will always dream.

Then the makeover begins...

- Try and not get too distracted on how beautiful the decor is and actually listen to the makeup artist they tell you lots of interesting facts on the products. 

So Emily Gordon is classed as a Team Tilbury artist and has worked for the brand for 1.5 years! The makeover lasts 1 hour and is £35 redeemable against products, an absolute steal, but you will end up buying more, emotional. The whole experience is based against makeup wardrobing and allowing yourself to be up to 10 different women if you feel like it. Emily explains, 'You wouldn't just wear one dress everyday, so why would you wear one makeup look'.  Makes sense. 

At the end of the makeover you get to see your new face in those beautiful hollywood mirrors and get given your personalised makeup menu so you know what to purchase then and what to purchase later. This is then packaged up with your products in beautiful tissue and in the Tilbury luxury bag, 'Gorgeous Darling!' (Charlotte Impression).

Experience 8/10: Overall I had a truly incredible experience, my artist was incredibly talented and extremely knowledgable! The added champagne was a beautiful touch and the over aesthetics of the products and decor is to die for. The only downsides I would say is that it is not a lesson, you are told about the products and get a beautiful makeover but you are not shown how to's. Secondly the lighting in the boudoir is very dim, making the experience incredibly luxurious but it means you can't see the exact colours of the makeup. Thirdly you will end of spending a lot, a lot of money because everything is beaut!

Fashion: Boohoo = Bae This Valentines Day

Hi everyone!

Thought I would try and fit this post in right before the big old V-day. Valentines day for some or Singles Awareness day for others... The wonderful babes at Boohoo have asked little old me to think of what that lovable word 'bae' means to me. With some thought and filtering, dogs are not the answer to everything Chloe, I came up with it. Bae to me is yourself. Cringe I know. Its true though, I think as soon as you learn to accept yourself, flaws and all you offer the best version of yourself to those you love the most. I wouldn't want to give my friends and family anything less than 100% my full attention and affection. Dogs come a very close second. 

With this in mind this Valentines I always try to dress in something that makes me feel like a female boss. I feel at my most powerful when I am in tailored, well fitting and simple clothes. However it is valentines so obviously I'm an absolute cheese ball and need to have some stereotypical love theme, hence the kiss shirt. I actually picked this up from the blogger market that Olivia from What Olivia Did hosted. It is pretty loud but super appropriate for this time of year!

My new blazer is legit so gorgeous I could just die happy. It fits like a glove, is great quality and has already rolled up sleeves, yay! It also drapes in a way that is so chic and flattering, I feel super slick in this bad boy. It looks great with stripes and plain tees too. I feel I have fallen in love this season with blazers and just crave more and more. I've seen a white one on Boohoo that I need to have to join my collection. 

Speaking of Boohoo and love, say hello to my new boys... These heels are without a doubt, so comfortable, versatile and possibly the new love my life.  I feel like my search for the perfect nude heel has been a forever ongoing battle, alas Boohoo were the ones all this time. If you have small feet like me these are perfect as the chunky strap at the ankle keeps you fastened in. I feel at Valentines day whether you have a date or not a pair of good heels will always make you feel sassy. These are perfect for petite girls as they have a good size heel to add height and length to your legs but are chunky so you feel supported, great for when you are wearing culottes, a tricky cut to make work. 

Either way every women needs a pair of classic nude heels, even more so if they are of faux suede...

Anyways I am not going to hold you lot up too much. Have an amazing Sunday folks and enjoy whatever it is that you are doing may that be Tinder swiping, Food contests or having a mates date!

Fashion: Suited and Kicks...?

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had the best weekend, mines was amazing it just all passes by too quickly. Sunday night at around 2am I was hit by the plaque, its so bad I couldn't go to work which sucks as I enjoy my work so much! Therefore I thought I would get this blogpost up so that I am somewhat productive. 

These photos were taken on Saturday in between the craziest wind I have ever experienced here in London so excuse the weird poses and wild hair. Mother nature has no chill. To hide away from this weather me and my 'Instagram boyfriend' decided to take refuse in this cute little kooky cafe called Outsider Tart at the end of Chiswick High Road. This place was so cute and cosy, the perfect hiding cave, I went for this peanut butter, cookie chocolate slab which was the size of my face. Only half was eaten which I am still extremely sore about. The decor is super cute so if you ever get a chance to check it out please do! Warning though it is pretty crowded so try and book a spot if you don't like sitting on someones knee.

For this super casual occasion I decided to dress up... As per. This little suit two piece is a new found love of mine. The blazer is an old Topshop number and the trousers are from Missguided, like all my trousers are, they just fit small people so well!  I must admit though these are the first trousers I haven't been completely in love with, the fabric is pretty clingy and I like my trousers to be quite straight leg rather than skinny, regardless I wore them and paired them with my leather panel blazer. I actually loved this look so much that I have invested in a new black blazer, that I can't wait to show you, it fits like a dream. 

To avoid looking to OTT, I paired this little get up with a loose oversized white tee and some shiny magical princess unicorn sneakers. Which need no introduction really. I also felt a bit bare so I wrapped my skinny scarf and chucked on some sunglasses for that oxymoron look. These shades tho.  I have had so many compliments about these and they are from the mens section at ASOS, but they look so Parisian chic. Well thats what I think.

Beauty: Low Light Life

Hi everyone! 

Another beauty post for you all except this time instead of a coloured highlight I have chosen a darker. smudgier grungy inner corner. This way it creates the illusion of super smokey, intense dark eyes. It also makes the look super easy to do as the messier the better really. I take most of my inspiration from Jamie Genevieve off of Instagram and Youtube. She used to work for Illamasqua so knows all about that grunge smokey alternative eye. 

I think this look is equally important on light coloured eyes as the contrast from the dark shadows really helps to make them pop! Normally I would incorporate some shimmer into my lids but I wanted to step outside of my comfort zone and went for a completely neutral matte look. Now the key with matte shadows is take each step little by little. It is very easy to go wrong especially when you are working with both light and dark colours. Therefore little bit at a time with a cray load of blending should steer you down the makeup pathway to success.

Ensure with this look that you start at the outer corner of the eye then the inner corner but completely leave out the middle. This step should be done last using the lightest shade you have to complete the contrast between light and dark. I wore this look out last weekend and I loved how different it was without looking too stand out! This eye look is really great for any potential 'dates' sorry guys but it is love month with Valentines and all. It also pairs perfectly with a nude lip, as lets face it who wants to wear the brightest shade they own when you have so much food to eat on the 14th... 

Looking back at that makeup list, it still scares me to this day how much items I put on my face on a daily basis. Thank goodness for Sundays where I let my face run free and be naked!
